Please turn off your sprinklers!

Okay, so I am getting a bit crazy, but really can't we all turn off our sprinklers since it has rained for almost two days straight? I actually knocked on someone's door this morning as I watched their sprinklers running with abandon into the already waterlogged soil. The woman said her gardener would take care of it. Really? Has it gotten to the point that we have turned over complete control of our garden's to the gardener that comes once a week and more often then not will mow, blow and go without even thinking about the sprinkler timer?

Well we have to start taking control of our gardens.  First with the timer. California has a huge water problem. We are in a serious drought. Snow pack levels are 61% of normal. It looks like water restrictions are imminent. Other cities in Los Angeles county have taken matters into their own hands - look at Long Beach restrictions, Santa Monica and Burbank to name a few. The LADWP can fine you for running your sprinklers in the rain.

If you don't know how to work your timer, call us, we are organizing free classes in various neighborhoods to show folks how to work their timers. This is serious and it does matter for agriculture in our state.

Every drop counts now, please do your part. Thanks.
